Sigur Ros is comprised of Jónsi Birgisson, Georg Hólm, and Orri Páll Dýrason. The band is named after Jonsi’s sister, Sigurrós Elín.

Sigur Ros has a unique sound that’s punctuated by Birgisson’s falsetto voice and his bowed guitar. The group released their first album, Von, in 1997.

Some of Sigur Ros’ best known songs are "Hoppípolla," "Gobbledigook," "Inní mér syngur vitleysingur," and “Popplagið.”
