Regardless of where he’s performing, when Jack Johnson walks onto the stage, you’ll swear that he just came from the surf and sand. If you’re sitting close enough, you’ll probably be able to smell the beach.
At some point during a Jack Johnson concert, you’ll notice that you’re happy. That’s what Jack Johnson does to an audience. His live shows have been compared to those by Jimmy Buffett, but more laid back.
Johnson will play electric and acoustic guitars and he’ll perform tracks from every era of his career. He won’t talk a lot between songs, but that doesn’t stop him from connecting with his audiences.
Jack Johnson was born in 1975 in Hawaii. Besides being a singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer, he’s also a documentary filmmaker, a former professional surfer, and an environmental activist.
Johnson released his first studio album, Brushfire Fairytales, in 2001. He had his first number one album, Sleep Through the Static, in 2008.
That was followed by To the Sea (2010) and From Here to Now to You (2013). Both albums peaked at number one.
Johnson’s most famous songs are “Flake,” “Sitting, Waiting, Wishing,” “Upside Down,” “If I Had Eyes,” and “You and Your Heart.”
