About the Minnesota Twins

You’ve got to catch the excitement of Minnesota Twins baseball. You can do so every summer in Minneapolis at Target Field, the first ballpark built especially for the Twinkies.

The Twins are a charter member of the American League. When founded in 1901, however, they were based in Washington, D.C. and nicknamed the Nationals (and then the Senators). They relocated to Minnesota and changed their name to the “Twins” before the 1961 season.

A lot of great players have taken the field for the Twins through the years including Harmon Killebrew, Kent Hrbek, Kirby Puckett, Tony Oliva, and Rod Carew.
