Widespread Panic was founded in 1986. The band’s lineup is as follows: John Bell (lead vocals and guitar), John "JoJo" Hermann (keyboards), Jimmy Herring (guitar), Domingo S. Ortiz (percussion), Dave Schools (bassist), and Duane Trucks (drums).
Bell and Schools are original members. Ortiz joined in 1988 and Hermann in 1992. Herring came aboard in 2006 and Trucks ten years later.
Trucks’ older brother is guitarist Derek Trucks and his uncle is Allman Brothers Band drummer Butch Trucks. Duane is married to Jimmy Herring’s daughter.
