More About Ozzy
Like the thousands of fans gathered in the arena, you’ll go crazy. From the opening chord to the final note, you’ll be on your feet and screaming as loud as you can.
It will take some time to sink in that you’re experiencing the “Godfather of Heavy Metal.” It will take a few songs before it finally sinks in that you’re at an Ozzy Osbourne concert.
Ozzy Osbourne gained worldwide fame as lead singer of Black Sabbath. During his tenure, the band recorded such classic albums as Paranoid, Master of Reality, and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
Osbourne released his first solo album, Blizzard of Oz, in 1980. It’s considered one of the greatest heavy metal albums of all-time.
Blizzard of Oz, as well as his second solo album, Diary of a Madman, were recorded with guitarist Randy Rhoads. Rhoads died in early 1982 while on tour with Osbourne.
Diary of a Madman was reissued in 2002 with new bass and drum parts. Fans hated the new tracks. They were commissioned by either Ozzy Osbourne or his wife Sharon. Both claimed it was the other’s idea.
Osbourne returned to Black Sabbath in 2012 to record the band’s 19th studio album, 13. The album went straight to number one in more than a half-dozen countries.
While Osbourne’s music has entertained and influenced millions, his epic substance abuse and wild antics have become the stuff of legends.
Osbourne has abused drugs and alcohol for the better part of four decades. His drug use got him fired from Black Sabbath.
His zest for drinking made him bite off the head of a dove. He has also been arrested for public intoxication.
In an event that’s become as much a part of heavy metal as leather and big hair, Osbourne masticated the head off a bat. A concert-goer threw a bat on stage, and thinking it was rubber, Osbourne give it a chomp.
The bat was not only alive, but gnawed Osbourne on the lip. He was forced to be treated for rabies.
We are always extremely appreciative of your business and hope you have an awesome time on June 18, 2020 experiencing Ozzy Osbourne at FirstOntario Centre.
