Mencia’s made a name for himself in the 1990s thanks to several television appearances and hosting an HBO Latino comedy showcase. He released his first comedy album, Take a Joke America, in 2001.
His career went to the next level in 2005 when Comedy Central gave him his own show. The Mind of Mencia aired for four seasons.
